Chinese investors and officials continue to hold high-level meetings in Pakistan with the caretaker officials and bureaucrats. At a business forum in Quetta last week, Chinese officials pressed for the removal of red tape hindering investment related to CPEC, stating that investors faced difficulty in land acquisition and obtaining no-objection certificates.
Attendees at the forum included Balochistan caretaker chief minister Alauddin Marri, Chinese consul general Karachi Wang Shung, and an official with the Metallurgical Corporation of China, which operates the Saindak Copper-Gold Mine in western Balochistan.
